I Love Scrapbooking Elements (with tear bears!!!) - Win this item!

Scrapbooking is so much more than it used to be. Today, we are historians. We preserve our memories, capture moments and journal moments in time for future generations.
My passions are photography, genealogy, scrapbooking and family. To me, they all go hand in hand; each complimenting the other.

This file would be great for a retreat, new scrapspace, crop or just recording your passion for such an amazing hobby. The term hobby always bugs me, it's so much more than that. What do you love to scrap? Leave me a comment and I'll pick one name from all of the commenters on February 27th, 09. The winner will get the Scrapbooking Frame with one of Esthers tear bears on it! In the second photo, you can see the files cut and assembled with Esthers little bears on them!!! They are so cute! The prize for this challenge is the large heart frame in the upper left hand corner! The winner will actually receive this completed item so no cutter required!

***** NOTE: Please leave your email address in your comment if you do not have a current blog. Otherwise, I will not have a way to contact you if you are the winner! I will contact the winner and get mailing info after the name is drawn.

UPDATE: Congratulations Cindy! Thank you everyone for posting to my challenge! I loved reading all of them :)

I love scrapbooking for many reasons, but most importantly, I love to capture life in the eyes of my children. The best pictures scrapped are of the ones where they are doing something they are passionate about. Scrapbooking is also my creative outlet, a way for me to express myself in ways I wouldn't otherwise.

Great new file Tammey!

One of the things I love about scrapping is the time I get to spend with my dil as we talk about the events we are scrapping. And of course it is a great way to record events we may forget later.

I love scrapbooking for reasons other than the obvious. I love it because it opened up a whole new world of friends for me through the internet and the Yahoogroups I am on.
I love scrapbooking because unlike the competitiveness of other hobbies scrapbooking brings out the kindness and generosity of others. No one I have met so far has ever told me that I couldn't scraplift a layout, no one has ever told me to get my own ideas and sink or swim. Every scrapbooker I have ever come in contact with has been generous to a fault with their supplies, tools and etc.

It still amazes me that I have made friends across this country and around this world who will lift me up, encourage me, and yes even pray for me if I need it.

It still amazes me that a complete stranger I have never met in person would think enough of me to send me a RAK...I mean think about it! What a great hobby this is!!

What I love about scrapbooking, is that times I get to spend with my nieces making diecuts(My Passion). It gives us time to get together and share each other lives. I love the closeness and friend I have found thru the yahoo scrapbook groups too. And Tammey your files are gorgeous. Suzanne

Why I love scrapbooking? well even tho I am at a stand still with it right now :( I like buying all the 'toys' to make albums ;o) I like seeing what the finished pages turn out to be. And wondering if the future generations will enjoy them. :)

Scrapping is a great way to wind down form a crazy week -- and right now my fav thing to scrap is pictures of my cat -- he is very strange in behaviour, but sooooo cute to look at!!

Scrapbooking is my way of not only capturing precious memories, but spending time with my 9yr old dd. Together we have fun taking pictures of events around us and putting them to paper!
I moved to a new town & scrapbooking has brought great new lifelong friends into my life.

I love scrapbooking because each time I do scrap it is a trip down memory lane. It brings back thoughts of different events in my life and people I've met. It also gives me an opportunity to get together with my friends to just enjoy the day together at our craft days and crop days.

I love scrapbooking because it allows me to be creative, it is a great de-stresser, and I have some great 2 small grandsons!! They will be able to look back one day in the future and see what their life was like when they were so little and new, plus they will know what their grandparents and great-grandparents lives were like too.

Scrapbooking is a real love of mine. It brings out a talent that I never realized that I had. It expresses the history of my family and the lifes we each live. It is a wonderful way to keep family and friends incontact with all the ups and downs of our lives.

Although it can be a competitive hobby it is one that expresses kindness from all those that partake within any challenge or contest. It has opened up a whole nother way of networking and building new friends.

Scrapbooking is the TOPS of hobbies and can be a lukertive business if one so wishes to venture into.

I love scrapbooking because it allows my creative juices to flow. When I go into my room (AKA laundry room) and put on some music, I can make the most beautiful things! The creative act also helps me fight my depression without using drugs. I miss it when I don't have the time for it and find my blood pressure rising...

Seeds of Doubt

I am not a gardener. When I decided to plant a garden I had to research what plants would grow well in this area and where to buy them. I had a goal of having a beautiful garden, so I put a lot of time into research, digging up and clearing the land and buying the right seeds. Imagine this beautiful space with a bright, white trellace for lush, green snap peas to climb! Then there are the delicious, bright red strawberries dangling just within reach! The lovely stalks of corn with their silky tops reaching to the sky and the potatoes, carrots and zuchini filling the ground. OH!!! I loved my garden! I did as I'd read and went into the garden and watered it and pulled the weeds. I'd done my research, I knew what to do!

My friends and family would come over and we would sit in the sunshine and enjoy the fruits of my labor. They marveled at my lovely garden and ate of the fruits. Then my mom came over. She IS an amazing gardener! She can get anything to grow! Even things that shou…

FALL - Take the time to get in the memories

I love FALL!!!

It is my favorite season. The colors are stunning, the weather is usually that perfect mix of warm days and cooler nights and I get to wear sweaters. I love sweaters! Big, fuzzy, warm sweaters! And coffee. Oh yea!!

Fall is also my favorite time to get out and take pictures! There are so many reasons to get pics of your kids, family, extended family, yard, community, favorite spot, furkids, grandparents.... oh I could go on!

Grab your camera and go! Capture your day!

Things to do in the Fall:

Sunrise and sunset are always amazing, but in the Fall they are extra amazing! Late afternoon will give you longer shadows which will really add character and depth to your photos. Is it cloudy or overcast? That's ok, head out anyway! Get close to your subjects. That's the great thing about digital, you aren't out any film!  Just delete the pics you don't like, but have a great time taking them! Make a mirror reflection photo! Find a calm, clear lake with trees around…

Boulders or pebbles?

I woke up this morning with this beautiful analogy in my thoughts. I'm a mountain girl. I grew up around Missoula, MT and absolutely love the area. One of my favorite things was to walk in the streams (or brooks/creeks) and look at the pretty rocks. I learned pretty quickly though that the beautiful rocks in the water changed drastically once dry and to just leave them where they were. Plus, my mom didn't much appreciate me having piles of rocks in my room.

Today it came to me that our lives are like a stream. Everything we experience is like the bed of the stream. The boulders in the middle are the big events in our lives. They are obvious and are usually sticking out of the water. They don't really alter the direction of the stream and if they aren't too big, then the water can actually run over them and keep going. Some are much too large for that and the water is divided and forced to go around the barrier, sometimes causing us to get stuck at it and sometimes just…
